EIS-FELA is currently in dispute with Dundee & Angus College over plans to cut jobs and courses, detailed in the initial savings consultation, published on 23 April 2023.
College lecturers deserve to feel secure and well-rewarded for their hard work. But instead, D&A College management is threatening to pursue compulsory redundancies, and other cuts to courses and jobs.
We are seriously concerned about the affect that this plan will have on lecturers and students.
Dundee and Angus College Reps have worked hard to try and resolve this dispute through negotiation. But college management have remained inflexible and have refused to withdraw the threat of compulsory redundancies.
That's why, we’ve launched a consultative ballot for industrial action until Monday 19 June.
We are committed to a negotiated settlement that avoids industrial action.
But the only way to stop lecturers from losing their jobs to compulsory redundancies, is for every member to vote yes to ASOS and yes to strike action.
All EIS-FELA members at D&A College should have received an email to their registered email address that includes a link to vote. If you haven’t received a ballot email, please get in touch with ballot@eis.org.uk as soon as possible.
Please don't hesitate to contact EIS Organiser, Amy Moran, at amoran@eis.org.uk, or the Branch Convenor, Steve Oakley at s.oakley@dundeeandangus.ac.uk with any questions.
