Every University Students' Association encourages students to set up a society on an issue or subject that is important to them.

Joining a society can improve your university experience by giving you the opportunity to meet new people and learn new skills. The EIS is proud to have supported Student Education Societies in Aberdeen, Ayr, Dumfries, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Strathclyde and Stirling.

You can contact Student Education Societies at:

Student Sponsorship

The EIS allocates part of its annual budget to Student Sponsorship for each Teacher Education Institution in Scotland. In the past, this sponsorship has been used for social and professional events including:

  • Child protection seminars
  • Student teacher mental health workshops
  • Preparing for Placement workshops
  • Appropriate use of online communication and social media sessions
  • Graduation Ceremonies and Graduation Balls
  • Final Year Conferences

If you have an idea for an event that requires some funding, please get in touch with your EIS Organiser.

If you would like the EIS to support and/or provide speakers for your event, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
